24 bit sample, direct to sound card, volume adjusted to remove peaks. . . Sound is a long recording of static and crackling noises with random notes and music from a circuit bent musini toy. I honestly don't know if the static sound (activated with two body contacts) is classified as "white" or "pink" noise, but i really like the sound of it! a plethora of crunchy, crispy, noisy snippets to transform into a drum kit or something like that!.

Made using ableton and some self-generated feedback in the studio, this was produced for a stage play in which a character is electrocuted by a faulty amplifier.

Anyone familiar with circuit bent sounds will recognize something in this fake circuit bent production of mine. I abused bitcrushers, frequency shifters and god knows what else on my guitar recordings. . . I need another aspirin. >_>;.

Around 2010, i circuit-bent a motorola cellphone and added a control surface to control the bends. Then i added an atari paddlewheel so its big potentiometer could be used to do pitchbends, and the result is an instrument i called the "sonic electronic ball breaker". It's got knives, quarterstaves, thor's lightning, sharp sticks, nuclear machineshotguns, and even some claws that come out to jab 'em. In this sample i'm going through and playing with the controls to see what i get. These sounds are pretty abrasive, but they work well when run through a bunch of effects.

Recorded at silverstone circuit from becketts grandstand for the fia formula 3 (race 1) for the 2022 season. Recording captures the entire lap, from the exhaust sound from them coming through the loop, aintree and the wellington straight with them coming past the microphone at maggots, becketts and chapel corners. Bought an old sony walkman from an antique mall. It was advertised as "radio works, but cassette player does not play. " this was true, and i was surprised at the noises it made when you tried to play tapes, though whether or not you have a tape or not it makes these types of noises when you switch it to the metal/chrome setting with dolby b on. You can add a 60 hertz hum if you touch any of the metal parts, and can somewhat mess the sound by messing with the spindles as they move. I may upload some more samples of this at one point, with cleaner recording of each of the sounds you can create.

Sound is a home-made circuit bent walkie talkie fashioned into a sort of opto-theremin. Main fx used to process it: boss xtortion and wattson superfuzz, with various other fx switched on and tweaked in the middle. Very much like a chainsaw in the beginning. . . That or a motorbike. The "reving engine" effect was created by blocking the amount of light going to the photocell (which was ripped out of a furby!).

A czech guy named "staney the robot man" who lives in prague build this little synth. It's completely handmade and consists of a bunch of analog circuitry that when powered creates strange oscillations in current. It's also built into a seseame street toy saxophone. This set sounds like a robot talking. If chopped up and sequenced you could do a lot with it.

This is a casio sk-1 i did around a year ago or so from reeds book plus a video out and 18 on board rca jacks with another 25 pin dpi that can run through a breakbox. Noise and bent sounds as usual. Crashes alot. Oh and it's not the hardest "mother of bends" serious, i wore socks and everything. : ).

played live - getting some cool trippy sounds out of a little circuit i built. Jammin on the 60hz hum! i think my body was an acting as an antenna for that ubiquitous drone as i laid my hands on the device. Reminds me of certain early progpsy tunes, c. 1999. Really creates some interesting moods with a little echo. Enjoy!.

Strange sound i made with garageband.

Originally made for the disquiet junto project 0433: "kit bits: create a kit’s worth of percussion samples. ". I used 1. Recordings with a telephone coil microphone recording sounds from an external blu ray drive and a smartphone (telephone coil recorded via behringer xenyx q1202 usb mixer, line-in) and 2. Random recordings from a soma ether device (recorded with zoom h1n, line-in). In these recordings i picked up those areas which i though to be useful for a drum kit, just as i would do it for myself. This track contains all samples in no special order in one file. All samples my own, released into cc0 public domain. Would be nice to hear if someone does something with it. There is the distinct hum of the transformer/capacitor or whatever helps power them running in the background and then a distinctive click and electronic thud as the lights come on followed by the buzz of the overhead lights as they are warming up. Mp3 and wav files available. It's a pretty distinctive noise and i will try to get a better recording of it next time.

Ambience school and park with birds.

I took a fairly drone-like-ambience, placed it in reaper's media explorer, and just had fun changing the loop size while recording the desktop.

Sound remixed fromoriginal audio:circuit breaker 2 dp. Wavsribubba. Added it to simpler, put it in c# i think, added a filter, plus some echo and reverb, added to a one shot and resampled it to this. Hope you like the noise and can use it.

This is a small jam i recorded myself on my diy spring reverb circuit i've built for a friend. It sounds really good with music. In this session, i've only used coninuous triangle/sine/square waveforms and jammed on my for pots: input gain,hp filter cutoff, feedback amount, output gain. I'm sorry if the recording clips sometimes, but there's a big dynamic so i couldnt see how much loud it was. Feel free to take it and use it for sampling or sound design layering.

My first upload! this sound i made using the zmors synth on my ipad air2 - i used audiobus which is a great routing software allowing many of a lot of awesome sounding synths that are now on ipad and can be played professionally via a usb keyboard controller (very handy for gigging) okay this is getting too wordy. . . I used audiobus overall with zmors in the first slot being routed through the wonderful aufx eq app in the center (effects) slot then ran the most useful of all ---> audioshare app in the 3rd or output slot to record it all. . . Keep in mind that the number of devices you can run in these three slots is virtually limitless - as much as your device can handle so you can get really nuts with several synths, a drum machine, etc all routing to the middle (fx) stop in the chain and picking up a fat 3 or 4 nice sounding effects devices then on to output to audioshare or you can now use just audioshare as host and run zmors in it directly (and probably more smoothly). I chose zmors because on a couple of other ipads (ipad mini, ipad 2 especially, and ipad air a little bit) i was noticing that it was a resource hog and was not playing correctly or there was a huge lag in the latency so with the new(er) ipad air 2 i wanted to hear the zmors synth and it really is an underappreciated majestic sounding beast if you ask me. I am going to experiment further with it as the unique architecture and just the way it sounds is totally different from any other synth i've yet to hear on ipad or in general. It kind of reminds me of a fatter, more modern. Sequential circuits 6 track. Which i've had a couple of and have a thick layered sound - kind of like a really nice turkey sandwich with a good portion of swiss cheese then you notice that there's still some roast beef left and put a good amount of that between bread as well. Hell, that's a sandwich that's gonna be filling! thanks for reading.
